Cancer Research UK
Our second craft fair took place at Lichfield Guild Hall on the 13th November, we really enjoyed the day and also had chance to give some money to charity! (buying a lot of chocolate fudge cake)
We were upstairs in a massive room next to a very clever lady who made woven baskets and wreaths. Throughout the day we were lucky enough to sell some mugs, candle holders, coasters and christmas cards and a big plus was the fact that we were indoors!
We have booked again for the 4th Dec at The Guild Hall in Lichfield so very excited for that, just got to get stuck in again now!

Handmade Birmingham
Our first craft stall was right outside the Bullring in Brum saturday the 6th November! We were very excited and obviously way too keen as we were the first to arrive haha, but at least we had time for a quick brew in the van before setting up!
It was a lovely but long day (getting up at half five and getting home at six) where we met lots of crafty people and also made some money! We sold some christmas decorations, a badger mug and our butterfly teapot, quite sad to see that go.
Thank you to all the lovely people who came to browse in the freezing cold weather x

I've been drawing away and Johns been collecting all of our stock and getting it all ready for the images and thinking up lots of new and exciting ideas, clever boy.
Here are some pictures of his bedroom while we were at work!

Also i have finally signed up to twitter, follow me @nightowlrose, nightowl was already taken so i stuck my middle name on the end!

I have successfully completed a PRODUCT, i had the idea in my head for months but now its here in the flesh.
Hope you like them. I think they're quite posh actually.

New Work
I have been a busy bee drawing again, i've started on a new range of drawings that could keep me going for a while!
They are very natural and are based on the wildlife that surrounds us here in the midlands. I live right next to Cannock Chase which is a huge forest packed full of mysterious animals, birds and rodents. I have been walking up the chase with my grandad since i was really young and now still visit with my doggy Benson. We're really lucky where we live, how we're surrounded by so many pretty woods and forests, i didn't even realise until i started this little venture how close we are to some really interesting places. Like....Sherwood Forest and Cannock Chase and attractions including The Falconry Centre in Stourbridge, can't wait to go!

Oh Aggy I Missed You So

I LOVE this shoot by Alasdair McLellan where Aggy reminds me of a young Sinead O'Connor singing 'Nothing Compares To You', shot on the streets of New York in some of Aggy's favourite spots. I cannot believe she has gone and shaved her hair, she is my ultimate icon, iv been craving shaving some of my hair for a while now, will not suit me though as i keep being told by my parents! This may actually be my favourite collection of photos taken of her, she is so beautiful, i mean come on who else would look that good with a shaved head??

Christmas List...

I've come across an interesting book named 'The Exquisite Book' .
Over 100 artists have contributed to the book in an ongoing piece that’s loosely based on the “exquisite corpse” game invented by the surrealists (meaning each one adds on to the previous artist’s drawing using a common horizon line). I love books that have involve a game or a puzzle of some sort, this is just visual love!

Cactus Love

I found these pillows that i might have to buy when i have my own house, they're bloody brilliant! Can't imagine having them on my walls but i do really like the pillows and they have really made me want to design some type of my own. The second image is just a private joke that involves a cactus looking uncannily familar to me!

I HEART TYPE

Here are some stunning photos that i came across on Flickr a while ago and just found them hidden away on my hard drive! I think that they may have been taken in Vegas as that it what they are saved as, sorry i have no more information...
I love the shape of the letters and the fairground style that they have, i would love to have a go one day soon at creating my own lettering similar to this. The three dimensional chunkiness and the shadows created give the words something else along with the rust erosion and layers of peeling metal.
Just some things that make me want to draw.. la di dah.

Touched By Fire

Martin d’Orgeval's book ‘Touched by Fire’ is a collection of photographs that are both tragic and so beautiful.
As many of you may know on February 1st, 2008 at five in the morning, a fire burned through Deyrolle, the famous Parisienne collections of natural history.
'The objects and the location form an entire work, the result of a strange, tragic process in which creation, conservation and destruction have followed on from one another – a process completed and given closure by photography.'
For me the photographs are so unique and wonderful, the colours so dark and rich, you can nearly smell the charred wood and the smoke stained walls. I do have to say that there is a definate sadness when you first see the photos but after a while you realise that the fire has created something of a romantic delicacy.
